Recently, the National Recreation and Parks Association awarded the City of Durango Parks and Recreation Department the Gold Medal Award, the nation’s highest honor of its kind. I was on hand that day to speak about the video I hosted and produced for the City of Durango. This was a dream project for me and a great opportunity to spread the word about the town’s phenomenal program. The video not only helped Durango win the Gold Medal Award, but was an EMMY Award Finalist as well. Not too bad, if I do say so myself.
While Seattle is home now, I have to give serious props to Durango, its residents, government, volunteers, and everyone and everything else that helped make this video possible. We worked with everyone from pro athletes to 5-year olds, and filmed from cranes, boats, and even a helicopter. It was a fun project and I’m glad that the results have been so positive. I challenge anyone who loves the outdoors to watch this video and not want to move to Durango, CO.
